A very worthwhile purchase!
We recently purchased the new Ulster Shredder in 2023 with the plan to increase production. This has been achieved through the fact that the machine is bigger in size than the previous one, with a more powerful motor. In addition, the machine comes equipped with a manual/automatic Ram, which when used, has a 3kw motor to push the plastic container onto the cutting blades on the rotor.
This enables the teeth to 'grab' the material to go through the shredding mechanism. This results in increased output because containers are not sitting on top of the blades and can be put through whole instead of manual cutting to reduce their size. This has saved many hours of preparation and a big saving in saw blades as well.
In addition, the bigger motors on this machine give increased torque and cutting power, meaning a tonne of plastic can be processed in a shorter amount of time.
